#cleaneats

There goes my new obsession. I know that it's too early to write about something I'm new to but I have so much emotions about this new obsession of mine. It's just something I see that I can commit to. The funnest part is actually not the eating part but the process that takes place before it. The planning out what to cook, preparation and the final part when you get to taste the food that you prepared and think "Hey, clean food doesn't have to taste so bad after all!" and everything actually tastes so good. It makes me happy.

I'm looking forward to preparing more healthy and clean food. It doesn't hurt that I get to lose weight on the process too! :) I hope I can stick with this lifestyle in the long run because it gives me more gratification than indulging in mindless eating and binge eating on junk food! It actually challenges me more to think of healthier options for snacks than to just grab on the yummiest looking junk food my mind tells me to EAT!

Benefits of the good food

I'm looking up the internet for different ways to incorporate chia seeds to your food since it is not widely used here in our country and I found this post http://wellnessmama.com/4981/10-uses-for-chia-seeds/ which was really helpful for me so I'm posting it here for future references.

I'll be doing my healthy grocery shopping later and is looking forward to trying new food to eat other than our staple rice and ulam.

Healthy grocery shopping list:
Quinoa
Chia Seeds
Oatmeal
Almond milk
Banana
Strawberry
Malunggay
Pineapple

So while checking out the Rustan's sale yesterday, we passed by a demo stall which had a juicer display that it's "The only juicer that can EFFECTIVELY juice Malunggay with stem" and so we checked it out and even had to taste their malunggay juice with pineapple. I had two small cups and it was SOOOOO good I can't stop thinking about it! Good thing that my sister has an extra juicer that looks like the juicer on display and I'll borrow it for my office. I am so excited that I can now juice here. Although I don't mind getting my juice readily prepared by ate Mila. She is the best. I told her that I want my lunch to be healthy because I am trying to lose weight so she sent me baked chicken or fish and veggies for my lunch. LOVE HER.

MISSING MY CUTE NIECE! SO MUCH! She was not in the mood yesterday so she was all sungit to us when we were at the mall and she slept early last night because she did not nap in the afternoon so I absolutely miss her. She was so sweet this morning though. Although I was half asleep, I can still remember how sweet she was hugging me while I was sleeping or lying down on top of me while she was preparing for school. When I woke up she already left for school. I miss her so much and seeing her so cute and sweet like that makes me want to have my own kid soon!!!! My sister must be so lucky to have the cutest and sweetest and wittiest baby in the world. If you've seen her pictures and find her cute, you have yet to meet her in person and be swooned by her cute personality. She is so smart for a 2 1/2 year old baby!!!

NO breakfast food photos today

I didn't bother to take photos of my breakfast today because I had breaded chicken again but this time the breaded chicken was not as good as before. Why? Because Ate Mila is unpredictable like that and it's okay because I like unpredictable. It takes you away from the safe and the known. The sometimes unpredictably good food gives me joy because I'm weird like that.

I'll just give you a glimpse of the food we had yesterday at the lunch meeting.

Ate Mila's Pork Adobo
The dish looked so good I swear I was so close to cheat again. So glad I resisted the urge to eat this!!

Nukos Adobo

Nukos adobo! Another favorite! Don't know how I managed to not eat these but hey, I did! :)

Chopseuy

And of course the last but definitely not the least..

PLAIN RICE!!!!

I don't know why I do this to myself but I kind of feel like I torture myself while doing this. Taking photos of the food they eat and posting them. It's making me hungry!! It somehow motivates me more though, to do better in my diet so that someday, I can start eating whatever I want. Hope so!

But I'm not as good in my diet though because last Monday (Jan 28), my high school classmate, Billy came to town and I had to play tourist guide and met up with them after work to eat at STK ta bay! Paolito's. I originally planned to behave and stick with my diet but later on decided that the food was too yummy to resist! Ended up eating with them. :s

Menu for the night:

Fish Kilaw with Gata (no photo)
Hot ans Spicy Calamares ( no photo)
Grilled Tuna Panga (Left)
Baked Scallops (Right)
Plain Rice

My cheat meal at STK ta bay!

We finished dinner at 8pm and was in a little hurry to rush to the airport since my friend has a 10:15pm flight back to Manila. We picked up La Marea warm brownie cup and white chocolate brownie cup on the way and ate it in the car. Got a free dessert pa gyud! Hihi. I wouldn't buy one for myself because I'll be really guilty to cheat more! They liked everything we ate and said they liked my recommendations!

Before that cheat meal, I also had another cheat meal so I gained a total of 2 lbs!!!! :(

So I promised myself to be good this week before the weekend comes...... before my next cheat meal which is totally not allowed!

But you can't stop a foodie from eating or thinking about food!! Can you??

MORE FOOD RELATED RANTS:

Here are my CRAVINGS this week:
1.) CREPE!!!!
Everybody has a food craving phase and I'm definitely on my crepe phase now.

Savoury and sweet crepes. Please come to me!
Soft crepes, crispy crepes, French crepe, Filipino crepe, Chinese crepe! I want them all. Okay. I don't know if there's such thing as Filipino crepe or even Chinese crepe but I tasted a crepe in China once and it was sooooo good, I miss it now! I want to fly everywhere and eat a lot of different kind of crepes!

I think I have a picture of the "Chinese crepe". Wait. I don't have a picture of it in my iTouch anymore because apparently, I found the picture useless and deleted it waaaaay back.

2.) Pancakes and Waffles

3.) Pork adobo and all the yummy home cooked meals of Ate Mila

But for now, will just have to stay away from all yummy food. :(

Diet Foodie

Since I have been (on and off because of Sinulog weekend) dieting for 3 weeks now. I decided to just share what my favorite low calorie healthy food are and since I will be posting more photos of the food that I eat, I will try my best to take good photos to give them justice. I know I suck big time at taking photos especially food photos so this is my pledge to give more effort. :p

Today's breakfast is one of the yummiest meal I have ever had while on diet. Breaded chicken breast!

Breaded chicken has always been one of my favorite diet food but today, I had experienced a very different breaded chicken from Ate Mila. Maybe it was the way it was cooked that made it special. I saw her use the air fryer today and I immediately ate it right after it was served. The chicken breasts were so tender and the breading was so crispy and it was sooooooo unexpectedly good. I loved it a lot.

Breakfast today was breaded chicken + mixed veggies.

For lunch:

Chicken curry + mixed vegtables (not in the photo) and Jacob's Low sodium Hi fibre crackers.

News: Remember my post about my favorite cracker? Click here. Well, they have it here now. Last Friday, we went to SnR Cebu and to our surprise, they already sell Jacob's Low Sodium Hi Fibre (old name Low salt hi fibre) but it doesn't taste as good as I remember it or maybe the ingredients are not the same since it has a different name or maybe it's really not the same crackers since I just assumed they're of the same kind (blabbing now).

I felt so bad this morning because as I stepped on the weighing scale, I saw that I had gained 1.4lbs from the last time I weighed which was just yesterday morning. UGH! I'm the only one to be blamed though because I was so hungry last night I decided to cook instant noodles with veggies and mushrooms for myself. The noodles was sooo good but definitely not worth it. Now I'm back to square 1. HATE HATE HATE!

Anyway, the diet is killing me making me weak. I've been feeling so weak the whole week. I've been depriving following the diet so much, which was a shock to the family because it's the first time I'm this behaved, I feel like I deserve a break once in a while (or not?).

Some time last week, I had this for lunch.

Sauteed Tofu and cabbage, golden mushroom with green bell pepper and tomatoes. I swear it was SO good even if it only had ginger in it.

If you guys want recipes, comment below and I'll try to list them down.

How many times?

How many times have I told myself to stick with my diet?
How many times have I told myself to follow a workout routine?
How many times have I told myself that this is really it is?
How many times have I told myself that I'll be successful this time?

:(

Super ashamed of my failure.

MUST. START. HEALTHY. LIVING. NOW!

Why can't I be a fitness freak?? Why? :(( It's definitely one of my frustrations in life. I just can't find the time to start working out as a routine because I'm just so tired ALL the time and if I ever have free time, I just find time to catch up on sleep or do something relaxing like get a massage or blog and I'm not just making excuses, or am I?

One day I'll make time for you so better wait for me. We'll work out sometime. Just not this time yet.

Annie
